This thread may never get any play, but I'm a bit of a Track & Field buff so I'm hoping we'll occasionally get a post here.

Here's one of my favorites... Blanka Vlasic from Croatia, 6'4" and born to jump (make sure you wait for the dance and the slow-mo)...

interesting thread.. man this area used to be huge for track and field. I'm going based on history of course, but one of my high school PE coaches was Bullet Bob Poynter, we used to hear a lot about speed city down in San Jose. Its a shame how that's all just history now, and it's tough to get into it for me unless its the olympics. I hope chum can keep updating this thread to show us some amazing athletes.

That's insane, i remember in Jr. High when we did track and field i had a hard time with the triple jump. Also i had trouble throwing a discus and my PE coach made me learn the right way to do it before i could leave, and then he gave up and said i should join a cow chip throwing contest.... lol

Kenny is a GREAT guy. Truly a classy, humble and hard working individual. Been a while since I have seen or talked with him (probably a good 5-7 years), but I believe he is still here in the east bay.

Nice one Bada. I sucked at the triple jump, that's a particularly tough one.

btw does anyone know how to post Youtube videos and circumvent the "Embedding enabled by request" stop that seems to be random.

You CANT. The "owner" of the video sets that when they upload. In essence they are saying "I dont want this video to be played ANYWHERE other than on youtube"
