Music Comedy and Basketball got me through the Bush Administration. Trump took a little extra help from ganja and tequila
Finally listened to that but with Dana Gould. Thanks for sharing, Money. Pretty funny. I think if I could see him physically tell it, I would’ve laughed harder. I love Hedberg and Brennan! Dmitri Martin sounds familiar, will have to look him and the others you shared up. My wife loves comedy and especially its history. She’s been diving into the CNN documentaries on HBO Max about it. Different subject, if you’re a Star Wars geek... The Mandalorian is a great watch. Just finished season two and loved it. I was not satisfied with Episodes 7-9 and you know... 1-3 was bad. So seeing this executed was amazing because the story takes place between “The Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.” And it answers some stories while also creating new ones and bringing others to life because now Lando, Obi Wan, and many other Star Wars stories will get to see the light of day in a tv episodic format.
I found The Mandalorian extremely uneven, some great episodes (the one paying homage to Kurosawa was great), plenty of fan service (which I hate, fan service is a way for the author to avoid writing good, solid plots) and plenty of episodes to fill time between others that advance the plot. It's not bad. But I think the new trilogy is SO BAD that people have taken The Mandalorian as the second coming of Luke Skywalker (er... no pun intended). I think it's a vastly overrated show because everything surrounding Star Wars has been SO F*CKING TERRIBLE since Disney took over (at this point, I must admit that I've liked both Solo and Rogue One, and that I'm only talking about live-action movies, haven't seen any of the animated series). Also, don't sleep on this new show that HBO will premiere in the USA next month: https://theeurotvplace.com/2020/12/...s-us-premiere-date-for-spanish-horror-series/
I watched Disney’s and Pixar’s “Soul” last night with the lady. The jazz music was great, kudos to Jon Batiste and team on that. And the animation renderings of New York were pretty incredible. And the story was fun and I appreciated the messaging... don’t let your ego tie into your passions/job and allow it to be your identity and believe it is your life’s purpose. Let your life’s purpose be what ignites your life and makes an impact in others. Love it. Also finally got around and watched Wonder Woman and then followed it up with Wonder Woman 1984. I enjoyed the first one. I thought it was great storytelling as I had no idea what her history was. The battle montage in the beginning was amazing. And the stunning Gal Gadot rocked the part. 1984 was kind of a drop off for me because the story felt a little lazy but I still liked it. I wished they had featured Kristin Wiig more because she’s great but she was secondary to Pedro Pascal, who brought a lot of energy to his character.
Watching season three has convinced me that while Johnny Laurence is definitely the archetype douche bag, Danielsan definitely asked for every butt kicking he got! I want to slap Ralph Maccio every time I see him try to act....
They are one in the same. I also love/hate Kreese’s sociopath behaviors because idk how he always manages to up the ante with something even more ridiculous every time but he does. He knows how to train a beaten down kid and turn them into someone who needs to be 51-50’d!
