Doesn't surprise me. At all. It was a weird trade, they could have gotten more, wasn't available during the offseason and all of a sudden he's gone for a second rounder? Felt odd. Now there's an explanation.

I read the article, very well done! Another reason for me to hate Belicheck.

Nice brief run for Ken Norton Jr. as our Linebacker coach haha... @bada , how do you feel about him being your D Coordinator?

Like SHIT!!! I am SO thrilled that Cable got fired... he is the absolute WORST!!!... however every hire we have made as replacements for our assistants have been atrocious in my opinion.

Jimmy G is going to be a Niner for a long time. Just signed a 5-year, $137.5 million deal. Seems like a lot, but that's the cost of the most premium position in the game nowadays. Congrats, guys!

Totally expected that he would become the highest paid QB in NFL history. He had ALL the leverage. And with having like over $100m in cap space, Niners had to do it after what he showed last season. And in 2-3 years, there will be like 5 guys making more than him most likely.

I like the fact that the deal is frontloaded... who knows what will happen down the line, but i'm glad they got him locked up. I agree, the price would just have gone up the longer they waited.

Yeah, Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Matt Stafford just to name a few... those guys will be getting their paydays rather shortly.

What do the Niners do about the Ruben Foster situation? He is a great player and was a high draft pick, but do they have to cut him loose?

I think when the details come out.. if he really initiated physical abuse, he's done. If this is based on threats, then i could see them giving him a chance to correct these bad decisions. He should be suspended regardless. If he can't get his act together, then he's done. We saw way too much of this during the Baalke term, and I'm just not into keeping a guy around, hoping he turns things around.

Looks like we are seeing the real reasons that he fell so far down the first round. It's sad, b/c the kid is extremely talented. Let's hope he can turn things around and not go down the Alton Smith path.

He also had an illegal assault rifle at his house...I wonder if he threatened his lady with that?

So if Richard Sherman is indeed cut, would you guys welcome him in SF? I know you guys have hated him for so long. Personally it would make me want to puke!!! Sherman is so similar to Draymond... you just LOVE the guy if he is on your team... you HATE him if he isn't.

i wouldn't mind him at all.. as long as he could perform. I think with the new regime, it would be a smooth relationship. Obviously, if Harbaugh were around, it would never happen. We do need some size and experience in the secondary.

I cant speak to how he will bounce back from his achilles injury but he was still PHENOMENAL last year. Not only his ability but he is like having a secondary coach on the field. And nobody prepares harder than him. One of my absolute favorite players of all time. I am still hoping he ends up staying but they might as well blow this hole thing up with everything they have already done.

The Bucs would gladly take him as well. Although, at this point, we would gladly take Deion Sanders at his current age. That's how good our CBs are.

Back to the topic, seems like the Niners are the front-runners to sign Trumaine Johnson. Doubt they'd go after Sherman if they sign him.
