Bazemore, Elington. Who else?
After adding Oubre, it's more about finding depth on cheap deals.
Tyler Johnson is available. Austin Rivers and Reggie Jackson are available as well. Avery Bradley, KCP, Glenn Robinson III, Bryn Forbes, Damyean Dotson... any of those guys can be signed for cheap and will add depth to our team on the wings.
I'd also like to add someone like Kenrich Williams. It doesn't show in the stats, but New Orleans played better whenever he was on the court.
But those are guys to sign to cheap deals. As far as the MLE, I'd go for the best player available that wants to sign with us, regardless of the position. Ibaka, Marc Gasol, even Cousins... someone that has something to prove in a playoff team.
of those I like RJ, Bradley, KCP, and GR3... not necessarily in that order...
Bradley is gone. Already signed with Miami while I was posting that.
late to this i know, but im super high on the Oubre deal. Whens the lst time we had someone that could regularly finish like this ?
we just signed Brad Wanmaker
I like Wanamaker. Can run the offense is a good shooter. Also, he's signed a one year, $2.25 million. He's going to be good depth. Probably will cut playing time of guys like Bowman, maybe Mannion, too. But he's solid.
Bowman was waived on Wednesday, I think. And Mannion’s probably going to go on a two-way contract.
Didn't realize Bowman was cut. Ok, so Wanamaker is gonna play that role, Mannion has more potential than Bowman, anyways. He can play with the Santa Cruz Warriors and be called up if needed or if he looks more ready than expected.
Seems like we're still working on the Marc Gasol front. Toronto wants him back (particularly after losing Ibaka), the Lakers have also asked. It's still very much up in the air atm.
Baze is back! One year deal, and he's going to add quality depth on the wings.
Now we might try to sneak a vet to help in the frontcourt (see the Gasol post above) and I think we're done. For now, at least.
Baze is a decent signing. He's the best mascot we've had since Thunder. Still, I would have peferred GR111 at this stage of their careers
don't know why, but I can see Baze in a Barbosa role. Nice to have him back.
I would like to take credit for the Baze signing, I will be here all week, and all quarantine. kidding! Let’s go!
Losing Klay probably set the tone for free agency. I have feeling Gasol or Ibaka or Bradley would’ve been a Warrior. But we’ll never know. Oh well, at least they didn’t go all Corey Maggette once Klay went down. Oubre, Wanamaker, Bazemore is a good coup. Here’s to hoping they can develop Wiseman and Mannion. Those two can be really good. But it’s on them to figure out how great they can be and the coaching stuff to guide them.
No doubt. We've signed only backcourt players, and that's because of Klay's injury. Oubre wouldn't be a Dub if Klay had been healthy, and we might have used that exception to add a frontcourt player. Not to mention Gasol signed with LAL because he's looking for another ring, and when he looked at us, I'm sure he couldn't avoid thinking we would be without Klay all season. Can't really blame him.
Is it possible that the Dubs could have sat on the Klay news? At least until today.. or is that a violation?
Well, Shams first reported it so someone tipped him. Whether that was a Warriors official or someone else there remains to be seen. But he was playing pick up with other NBA players so my guess is a non-Warriors official sent the text to Shams so hard to have kept it quiet. Information moves super fast these days... it was bound to leak.
Warriors signing undrafted free agent Dwayne Sutton to a deal. They're saying he'll likely be a candidate for one of the two-way contracts... joining Nico Mannion, who's rumored to be someone they may use the other two-way contract on. Roster as it stands:
C: Wiseman | Chriss | Looney
PF: Green | Paschall | Smailagic
SF: Oubre | Bazemore | Sutton (potential 2-way) | Toscano-Anderson
SG: Wiggins | Lee | Poole | Mulder
PG: Curry | Wanamaker | Mannion (potential 2-way)
So they will probably have Mulder and Toscano-Anderson battle it out for the final roster spot. I like both... but I think Mulder is more ideal for his shooting and, from what little sample size we have, his defense.
There's a lot of length and versatility in this roster. Not a contending one without Klay, but a pretty dang good one, I think. If Curry returns to or close to his MVP levels and Dray can somewhat replicate his 2016 run and they both stay healthy, they have a great shot at giving other teams hell in the playoffs. Lots of lefties, too... when's the last time that happened? This is going to be an annoying team in transition, too. Can you imagine Green handling on a fast break and we has Wiseman, Oubre and Wiggins flying down and Curry running to a spot beyond 3?
Again, Klay news aside... this is a fun roster.
how about some more length? Since per TMC Jordan Bell might get cut by the Lake Show...
always loved his energy, hustle and defense off the bench.
