Trade KD's ass now!
No wonder KD wants out, if that's the case... he's always blamed for everything and treated like an outsider. Let's remember all this turmoil comes from a play that Draymond f*cks up, and now people are saying good riddance to KD.
Is he too sensitive? Heck, yeah. Nothing wrong with that, but you gotta have a thicker skin in the NBA business. If you don't, people are going to abuse you, so you're gonna need it, if only for self-preservation.
He's also a heck of a scorer and the best clutch player in the league. You do whatever you have to do to be sure a guy like that is happy where he is, because if not, he's gone, and you won't be able to replace him. He wants you to trade Draymond, you trade Draymond, although KD is smart enough to realize Draymond can help him win another ring.
Once he's gone, and after we don't win a ring for 20 years (hey, it might happen, because we're still gonna be real good, but definitely worse than our current team), we're really going to miss him and appreciate what he's done for this franchise.
Quick question: let's suppose he's gone after the year and we win another ring this season (and, frankly, we will unless injuries or infighting derail the season). Does he deserve to get his number retired by the Dubs? The answer is a resounding yes from me, but I'd like to know what you guys think.
HOF player. 3x champ, at 2x finals mvp?
Yeah, I think his jeresey gets retired
KD cannot be traded, he has a no trade clause in his contract. And there is no way they would trade him anyway.
TMC, I think you have the wrong idea about my feelings on KD. I pick on him a lot b/c of his wishy washy personality. But I love him as a basketball player. Shit, I have 2 of his bobble heads proudly displayed in my house. Without him, I doubt we win the last 2 straight titles...his ability to take a game over offensively is just amazing.
I want him to stay on the team this season and help win a 3rd straight title in Oakland. If he leaves next year, I will not be broken up over it. With their move to that shiny new arena in SF, this franchise will never be the same. Selling their soul to only the mega wealthy will probably backfire in their faces, and my love for this team will be broken.
I'm not going to get "broken" over it MadBaller, but I'm empathetic to your point for sure. Not happy about the move either, you've read my feelings on it.
But this team is AWESOME.
I'm not ready for this run to end at all. I have faith in Myers and Lacob, for the time being. I think they can make a few trades and acquisitions in the coming years and ride this thing into 2023-2025... and 2-3 more titles. A decade of titles... Maybe even 8 out of 10...
More than anything, I want to win at least one more. And another thing, I want to destroy the Lakers with Lebron on the team...
completely make them re think their whole plan. No shot at WCF, just completely shut down....
I want those bragging rights for a decade. Why do I have to have so many friends from LA... They have been silent over the last week, but I can feel them
foaming at the mouth, wanting to say something.. Fuck the Lakers... and fuck their 16 titles... Lets go get 4-5 more!
I love the fact that we're getting a shiny and fantastic new arena, but it should have been in Oakland, and it should have kept the soul of this team, it's fans. It could have been done as well, as it's a privately funded arena. But with the location and revenue plans for the Chase Center, that's going to change. And surely not for the best...
I don't know if we can keep this up for 10 more years, Money, but, if everything goes our way and we keep our guys, 5 or six more years are possible. And, above all, it's important to win this year's ring, because it'd be the threepeat. There hasn't been a threepeat since the Shaq and Kobe Lakers, and the two times the Bulls achieved it. Before that, we have to go back to the eight straight titles that Boston won back in the day. So the door to make history is now. We won't equal that Celtics achievement, but I don't think it'll ever be done. I'd settle for second best if we won four straight.
That's why I desperately want to keep this team together, and KD is the key. He's gone, it's a whole other game. But one thing we know about KD, he loves basketball and he wants to make history playing basketball. And, to do that, he knows his best option to keep winning is with the Dubs and surrounded by the great players on our roster. So I'm confident he'll finally stay with us. I'd just like to see some more appreciation for what he's done for us (and I'm not talking about the members of our site, but generally seems to me like that Dubs fans have aligned with Draymond and against KD, and I think it's unfair).
To be clear, when I meant decade, I meant starting with the 2014-15 season, so until 2024-25.
Steph may not be on the team by then at 37 years old, you never know. Install bionic knees...
They have a real chance to continue this run, and I think Lacob and Myers are committed to winning for as long as possible.
KD is essential to our run and for our run to continue.
Man, I've been thinking about KD in our offense and just that he's never fully fit in with it.
I mean he does fit because he gets buckets, is great in transition, and can spot up from anywhere. He's KeffinD!
But when we're really running our offense, a couple of low screens to get Steph or Klay open at the 3pt line, he doesn't seem to know what to do.
He doesn't move a lot like Kerr wants everyone else to. I think they need to run some plays for him specifically, as a cutter he is deadly, but also as a decoy/2nd option on the 3pt plays to Steph/Klay. Every piece has a job, and sometimes he doesn't seem to know what his is except try to take someone iso off the dribble or spot up. It's like they don't know what to do with someone with his tremendous skill set (within the context of their motion offense) except "go do what you do". And for the most part, that is exactly what he should do. But I would like them to draw up some clever decoy plays for him where he either draws the defender so the guards can get their shots off, or gets the pass as he cuts. He skill set needs to be utilized more "purposefully" and "intentionally" as a part of this very special offense.
I think the talk about moving to SF is way overblown when it comes to the crowd that will be attending games. The Oracle crowd is already pretty much at that stage. It still has a great feel, but lets face it, we are now spoiled with winning. The same things that used to excite us at the game, don't excite us the same way anymore. That's just how it goes. Whether the arena was built in SF or Oakland, we'd be dealing with the same issues.
Some of this is true Rob, but the ticket prices are doubling at least, and then throw the PSL's on top of it and it is just crazy. I know this is inevitable, but I have a right to be pissed off and complain about it. The fans expectations will be higher than ever, so any losing that will come in the future will not be tolerated. Lacob and company are great at what they do, but they are also extremely arrogant and think they can keep this up for the next 30 years.
I also read that the Warriors will be selling" in arena only" tickets next season. This means you can get in the arena, but not watch the game live. How stupid do you have to be to pay $50 to watch the game on TV at a bar in the arena buying $20 beers. This is the kind of shit that pisses me off!!! The sad thing is, there will be plenty of idiots who want choose this option.
And I will be at home, with my mini fridge and my dvr, and my "not empty" wallet, laughing hysterically in my sweats.
And able to go to sleep 20 mins after the game is over.
Absolutely! Smart man!
The Warriors look lost early against the Thunder. Ball moevent looks second guessed, defense looks confused.
Some feel good happening. I like how this is trending.
WTF???!!! I was on the road during this game. just checked the score and we got rolled by 25 points at home. This is some serious BS! We need Steph back asap. Just looking at the stats, KD and Klay scored some points, but nobody else did anything. Livingston and Iggy should be helping the team out with all these injuries and team turmoil, but they are old and tired.
with this 4th straight loss and 5th out of 6, we are now the 5th seed.
Is that four in a row? Our thin bench and lack of rim protection has been fully exposed.
This is getting ridiculous
Yep, we lost all 3 in Texas and now the Thunder at home. The last 2 seasons we had a deeper more veteran bench, and could absorb a couple of injuries...that does not appear to be the case so far this year.
Is there no end to KD's stupidity? Use your head man...u had to know this would get out!
"Considering everything that’s gone on with the Golden State Warriors over the last week and a half, you would think that Kevin Durant and everyone else in the organization would try to keep any extra heat off the team.
Instead, Durant liked an Instagram comment that read, “Green getting traded if Cousins healthy just the rumor going around.”
That's the key. He knew it would get out. KD just told management, without telling management, that he wants them to move Draymond.
This team is very unlikely to win a Championship as it is. It is too dysfunctional. KD and Draymond are two of the key pieces to the team and they are both emotionally immature. They aren't going to be buddies and play nice with each other anymore. This isn't Jordan and Rodman. Jordan and Rodman could put aside their differences, KD and Draymond... it doesn't look like they can.
You need to trade one of them and logically it should be KD as he is unlikely to stay next year and KD is probably the player that the rest of the team is siding with. You have to keep the rest of the team happy.
Steph coming back isn't going to fix this. This is a sideline issue. Steph hasn't been able to fix this from the sideline and he won't be able to fix it on the court.
