Since we pretty much got all teams covered member wise, I thought we should just start one thread that discusses all the other teams instead of making a separate thread for every team or division. Couple of thoughts... * Can a threesome of T.O, Ochocinco, and Antonio Bryant co-exist? Two large egos and a head case. But the 3-receiver set plays a significant role in the NFL these days. Slot receivers mean so much against the 3-4 defenses. * What's up with Haynesworth? He gets paid and suddenly he doesn't have to care or go 100%? Although, it is well documented that he does tend to go all out one year, and take the next year off. * I like the Texans, but there's always something that's wrong with them. Their running back situation is up in the air with newly drafted RB Ben Tate, breakout for a season/slump the next one Steve Slaton, and Arian Foster(who impressed the Texans last year during practices and even during games). Plus, they play in the AFC South... a tough division to be in.
TO and Ocho are buddies, and they both like Carson Palmer. Antonio Bryant is going to be open A LOT with those other two guys there, so yes I think they will be able to co-exist and THRIVE together. I think the Bengals are going to be a scary team to deal with this year.
That will implode, and Antonio will be the reason it happens. Carson Palmer will want them all out of the team as soon as everybody starts bitching and moaning about not getting enough looks and not playing the big role they deserve to play. It will be FUGLY. Quite fitting for the Bengals, if you ask me.
Who the f*ck is that Victor Cruz guy and where did he come from? A pity he's with the G-men, and that means he won't get much playing time, because it was quite an intriguing show, even if it was only a preseason game.
And entering the feel in the third quarter... and with Jim Sorgi as his QB!!! I'm still at this guy. I've got a new "toy" to root for.
THE REGULAR SEASONS NEEDS TO START ASAP!!!! And yes, I can't stand preseason anymore. So I've changed my stance and now I'm approving of a 18 game regular season. I'm sorry for the players... but 4 games of preseason takes too long.
I hate the preseason games with a passion. They just get players injured for no good reason. Test players out in camp and real games and to heck with the preseason. 18 games... artydance:
So with Javon Walker set to the join the Vikings... does that mean we'll see Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings in a Vikings uniform down the road, too?
No, all it means is that Javon will kill Favre one of these days after Brett starts criticizing him for whatever reason...
So with Derek Anderson the projected and likely starter for the Cardinals, the Matt Leinart experiment is as good as done. Latest news to come out is that several teams such as the Raiders, Bills and Giants have acquired interest in obtaining him. So exactly what happened to Leinart? He was in pretty decent situation. He had a talented core of receivers. His RBs were inconsistent and he didn't have the greatest defense to help him, but he the tools were there. Maybe sitting and watching Kurt Warner would help like when Aaron Rodgers sat and watched Brett Favre... and look at Aaron now. Leinart... not so lucky. So what cause Leinart to not find the success expected of him?
Really his nickname of "Captain Checkdown" says it all. either is is unable or unwilling to take any chances down the field. He pretty much is only capable of throwing the underneath routes and without a threat of a downfield throw, defenses are not going to play honest and will be much more aggressive.
I also heard he has leadership issues. Being the QB of a team and all... you should be a strong leader. He lacks that in significant fashion.
that just comes from a lack of success which leads to a lack of confidence. Leinart was widely recognized at USC as being a very strong and dynamic leader... he certainly has that in him and would not be something I worry about. His execution as a QB is what I would worry about
It's official, Leinart was released. So will another NFL team pick him up? or will he have to go to the UFL?
I even heard that the Bucs could be interested in him, as Josh Johnson's backup (that means, #3 on the depth chart). Considering how Rudy Carpernter has played in preseason, I'd rather go with him than Leinart.
I think he'll find a place somewhere... Wouldn't be surprised to see him in Seattle actually, with Carroll. They've been picking up San Francisco's trash lately so maybe they'll dig into Arizona's rubbish bin now too...
Some random news: * Leinart seems to be close to a deal with the Texans. Meh... guess it's alright to have him as Schaub backup... because if Schaub gets injured again, they're in deep trouble, no matter who plays. * Montario Hardesty is going to miss his rookie season. Like Ben Tate. A pity a couple of really talented rookie RBs have to go through this. I even considered Tate a sleeper for OROY.
