The rumor of the day is that the Clippers offered Griffin & Stephenson to the Nuggets for Faried, Gallinari, Barton & Jokic.

    The Nuggets declined.

The idea here is to keep Jokic playing next to Griffin in any scenario, not ship him off for Blake. And I think that's the difference between accepting and declining. Oh, and also not wanting Lance around Mudiay and Harris.

That Howard/Whiteside swap would be funny but make no sense. Probably works out better for the Heat, Whiteside makes no sense for Houston.

Orlando's sending Tobias Harris to Detroit for Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova.

What a deal for the Pistons. Drummond/Harris/Jackson is a nice young Big 3 and I feel like SVG will develop Tobias really well, especially on the defensive end.

Meanwhile for Orlando, Jennings is on the final year of his deal and Ilyasova has a team option for next season. Tobias was the highest paid at 16m+ per until 2019. Vucevic is now that guy at 11m+ per. This frees up more PT for guys like Aaron Gordon and Super Mario and be able to extend Evan Fournier.

    3-team deal:

    - Courtney Lee to Charlotte
    - Brian Roberts to Miami
    - PJ Hairston, Birdman and two future 2nd RD picks (from MIA, one heavily protected) to Memphis

Lee is a UFA this summer and Memphis was not going to get into a bidding war so they're taking a flyer on Hairston, who wore out his welcome in Charlotte.

    interesting trades.

    no more Blake chatter?

It will be interesting to see what if any, more moves we see from western conference teams.

Some writers are saying the Warriors are trying HARD for KD.

Likely letting go of Iggy, Bogut, Barnes.

    We'll end up with...

    Steph
    Klay
    Durant
    Dray
    Ezeli

    Speights
    Barbosa
    Livingston
    Mcadoo
    Rush

    Clark
    Looney
    Mcadoo
    ?
    ?

I'm not sure about that 2nd unit and the 5 position with the starters...

Seems attractive with that supernova 3 of Steph/Klay/KD but we'll be sacrificing A TON of depth - means extended mninutes for Steph and KD = injury risk.

I haven't ready anything on that. Ezeli is a wild card because of his knees. Speights, Barbosa & Rush are UFAs. The money that's going to be tied into the starting 5 will be a ton. Livingston may be the only large contract on that bench.

    Anyways, back to rumors...

    - Dwight Howard gained suitors, but none gained traction. Doubt he'd get traded anyway. He's opting out this summer, regardless.

The Cavs and Clippers are going after Channing Frye, with the Clippers seemingly the likely destination. They'd unload Lance Stephenson, CJ Wilcox and a couple 2nd rounders. Nothing official, but Woj said it's close barring LA's response tomorrow. Lance would be waived by Orlando immediately.

Looks like the Magic are trying to free up as much money as possible with the Tobias trade and Frye rumored trade.

Lance's story is so strange. He was great on my fantasy team a few years back, his breakout year, then he got traded and really has not fit in anywhere since.

Speights Barbosa and Rush actually looks like a good core for the 2nd unit.

I hope we don't make any major moves. Bad enough we'll likely lose a big chunk of our 2nd unit without even talking about Durant.

With Durant, we lose 3 of our anchors + 3 major 2nd unit guys with zero money left to land any support. Which means rebuilding the 2nd unit with picks and just cross our fingers.

Love the Harris deal for both teams. Tobias is the most skilled player of the deal, and fits a position of need for Detroit, so it's a good move for them. And Orlando was the worst shooting team in the NBA along with Milwaukee, so adding Jennings and Yliasova helps a lot, particularly the latter. Payton also has some issues and Jennings is can help with that as well. So it seems like one of those rare deals that helps both teams.

The other deal is not a big one, but Lee is going to help Charlotte replace Kidd-Gilchrist and Miami saves a ton of money, while the Grizz get a couple of first rounders. Also a pretty decent deal for every team involved.

You know how aggressive management is. Remember all the assets they gave up just to land Iguodala?

TK made a good point. This is how management thinks... Do you pay Barnes 20m+ and pay for Iguodala/Bogut into their 30s or do you pay for Durant in his prime?

I guess that's true. Thing is though is we're in the cusp of winning another Championship now. Bogut/Iggy are both still good for at least the 2nd half and post season. Definitely Barnes.

I'm recalling shades of the Run-TMC break-up almost. But obviously, our core is intact and definitely strengthened. But I'm talking about the larger team core here that's in jeopardy.

But I get the idea. If you're eventually going to do it anyway, might as well do it now while the main core is still young and can adjust quicker.

If you're gonna do it, might as well be for arguably the best player in the league. That's how I see it.

No trades today. Catching up on the craziness...

    - The Rockets are still aggressively shopping Dwight, but the Ty Lawson for Trey Burke train sounds more likely.

    - With Orlando not interested in Cleveland's offer for Frye, the Cavs have turned their attention to Ryan Anderson. They're offering picks and Anderson Varejao. The Pelicans want A LOT more than that. And considering those picks will be late first rounders, NOLA's probably laughing.

    - The KLove to Boston in a 3-team deal rumor is still alive.

    - The Bulls are exploring trading Gasol since he's opting out. The Kings, who are a f*cking mess (they just fired their assistant coach), are interested. Lol

    - The 76ers put Jahlil Okafor on the block.

    Deadline is tomorrow!

Not sure how aggressive the Warriors were on this, but Durant "rejects" GSW is a little misleading.

While we could always get better, if it aint broke, don't fix it!
Durant would have been awesome to watch with Steph. The timing on this more than anything determined the outcome.

That's a misleading article considering no one else has followed up on that and confirmed it. There's only been one trade this morning that just happened so I would assume this would've been heavily reported to say the least.

    I don't believe it.

If the Warriors do anything, which is unlikely, I'm hoping they can add a needed piece without giving up much. Ryan Anderson and Channing Frye are still out there. Aren't they? I prefer Anderson but his price might be too high

Frye to CLE, Cunningham and a 2nd to ORL, Varejao and a 1st to POR. Andy V will be waived by the Blazers.

Possible center depth on the cheap?
