Big congrats to Kawhi for his 2nd consecutive DPOY award. He is as good of a defender as I have ever seen in this league. Dont think I have ever seen him take a play off.... puts out so much effort on that end despite being his team's leading scorer and focal point on offense.

Sucks for Draymond to be playing against such a transcendent defensive talent. Its like all those all time greats that never won a championship because Jordan was in the league.

Draymond deserved it. I've never seen a player that can cover so many positions (including center) so well. Is Kawhi great? Yep, but Draymond is better.

They just didn't want to give all the awards to Dubs players :D

As much as I would like to agree with you... I just can't. This is not a dig on Draymond as he is simply an amazing defender and it feels a bit like splitting hairs. But Kawhi is the best defender on far and away the best defensive team in the league. They both are versatile. Kawhi more so on the perimeter while Draymond most so on the bigs. Kawhi defends 1-4 while Draymond defends 2-5. Kawhi almost every night is defending the oppositions best offensive player (as rarely that is a center) even if that is a PG.

They clearly are the top two defenders in the game... nobody defends multiple positions like they do.

It's a crapshoot. You can't be upset who wins it as long as it's between those two. Even Draymond said today that he wasn't disappointed and pointed out he felt more snubbed last year versus this year.

Being the second best defensive player in the league, 2 years running is still a huge accomplishment! Both these guy's work so hard, every minute they are in the court.

Defending the center position is an entirely different level of defense. Draymond actually shuts down some of the top centers in the league. Sorry, but I just disagree. Draymond is on a different level... because he can defend the 5 spot so well.
