I frickin' love fantasy football. I have on complaint: the playoff system relies too much on luck.

In some years I'm cool with it. I went .500 in a league last year and ended up winning the championship when a few players got hot at the end of the year and my competition had injuries or guys sitting. This year, in my money league, I'm on the opposite side.

League record 11-3 (first place, up 150 points on the second place team)

    My original draft:

    1. (5) Arian Foster(Hou - RB)
    2. (16) LeSean McCoy(Phi - RB)
    3. (25) Greg Jennings(GB - WR)
    4. (36) Mike Wallace(Pit - WR)
    5. (45) Peyton Manning(Ind - QB)
    6. (56) Marques Colston(NO - WR)
    7. (65) Knowshon Moreno(Den - RB)
    8. (76) Kenny Britt(Ten - WR)
    9. (85) Josh Freeman(TB - QB)
    10. (96) Jimmy Graham(NO - TE)
    11. (105) Nate Kaeding(SD - K)
    12. (116) Atlanta(Atl - DEF)
    13. (125) Mike Thomas(Jac - WR)
    14. (136) Brandon Pettigrew(Det - TE)
    15. (145) Randy Moss(Ten - WR)

Waiver wire additions: Nate Washington (replacing Britt), Jonathan Stewart (replacing Moreno), Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco (replacing Manning), Jason Hanson and Stephen Gostkowski (replacing Kaeding), Dallas/NYG/Houston (replacing Atlanta).

While I got unlucky with zero production from Manning and Kaeding, I got extremely lucky with McCoy at pick 16 and Jimmy Graham at pick 96. While I got unlucky losing Britt early, I got lucky that Colston's below-average draft rankings turned out to be false. While Moreno was a horrible bust, Foster/McCoy left little need for a back-up. All in all, this has been a very fun team.

So, it's playoff time. My stud core of WRs has been absolutely decimated with Jennings out with injury and Wallace playing but without his starting QB. I still have McCoy, Foster, Graham, and Colston, but I have to pray that Mark Sanchez and Nate Washington put up good days or I'm just done.

It's a shame that amazing, powerhouse teams can run out of steam by year's end. This is a pay league with $400 or so on the line. Just a month ago I thought I had it in the bag, but now I need to get very lucky to beat two very good teams. :xross:

It mirrors real life... I mean in the NFL playoffs are one game proposition. Health can play a huge part of it. Last couple of years the 6th seed has won the Superbowl. It is frustrating but also what makes it great.

Man, dont get me started on the anomaly bull sh*t that has me SCREAMING at my TV for 7 hours.

Heres a good one for you! a guy starts Joe F*cking Webb today............obviously by mistake huh? great, a wasted play.

Nope, Ponder gets injured in the 3rd (straight after I lost Peterson in the 3rd) and then Joe F*cking Webb comes in and gets 3 TD's on 3 straight plays!!!

Come on.............that right there illustrates perfectly the madness of the game we love.

Also, I need Austin to have a big one.............then what happens? Romo gets injured first play of the game.

Oddly, the team I was playing had Romo. I won easily. On to the championship.

Yeah, and I'm screwed. The guy who customized this league (and who decided to make it a pay league) added some very bad things to the custom settings including a week 17.

I'm still waiting to see who is projected to play and not play. I've read various places that Foster and McCoy may played limited minutes or not at all, which would all but end me. I've also read that Brees may not play, which would make Colston and Graham poor plays as well.

The good thing is that the league pays out for weeks won, so I'm already in the black by $10. If I lose the championship I'll miss out on $200 or so, but hey, it's really not that much in the greater scheme of things so I won't let it bother me. I likely will not return to this league next year if they put an entry fee in on it.

Yeah, nothing worse than a championship game in week 17. you work so hard all season only to have half your team not even play.

for bigs.... as Chris Smoov would say "that's a noob move!"

LOL, well, it's the morning of the championship, and I'm up checking inactives. Despite what the "expects" said about Foster and McCoy playing this week, ESPN just published the worst possible headline:
