Yeah, no great match ups for any of your D's this week..............lets get it on!
Next year, can we change flex to WR/TE/DEF?
So, of course, I had Trent Richardson starting the whole week. Due to how atrocious the Browns QBs are, I decided to replace him and start Ahmad Bradshaw instead. Bradshaw injures his neck and I end up with 25 less points that would have sealed a W. Of course, everything points to another defeat on week 2.
Oh, and this time, DeAngelo Williams decided to show up and had 60 yards and a TD. And the Texans decided to use Ben Tate. Basically, everything that could go wrong with my choices, went wrong.
I hate fantasy sports.
Not a good week for at least one aspect of all 4 of teams.
1 - Have Forte in team 4, with Kevin Smith (and Tate but I dont feel I can trust Tate week to week as a starter) as his back up with the Lions saying that LeShore is going to start in week 3.
2 - Started Philly over Green Bay in team 2, costing me 22 points.............started the Jets over Green Bay and my boys, which cost me 16 and 15 points respectively.
3 - Started Ponder over Dalton (right at the last minute) on team 4 (the 3 QB league) and that cost me 23 points.
4 - CJ2Lame is costing me badly in team 1............glad Matthews is coming back, so it looks like Matthews and Ridley from here (but of course, as soon as I drop Johnson he will explode).
5 - Hernandez in team 2 (our league)...........and thats not looking pretty. Charles might also be appearing on the injury report too (his lack of carries is said to be more than just game situational).
6 - Steven Jackson on team 3, combination of injury and discipline kept him out.
7 - Maclin on team 3 and 4, his hip injury has got worse.
Overall, not the best week ever..............and issues spread across all teams (hopefully I will get 2 wins though, maybe only 1 after tonight).............I got some work to do with the thin wires in all leagues.
I'm considering benching Darren McFadden vs PIT and Peyton Manning vs HOU for Alfred Morris vs CIN and Andrew Luck vs JAC. I hope it doesn't backfire on me.
I've been extremely lucky to win this week with basically no help from my RBs and a the ridiculous amount of 2 points that Brandon Marshall got me.
Of course, Eli won't happen to throw for 510 yards and 3 TDs every week... I better start getting some production from the RB positions, because it was a miracle I won this matchup.
I lost both of my games this week with Ben Tate sitting on the bench for both teams. In one league, I have the 2nd most points and got beat out by a huge Eli performance.

Through 3 weeks, my defenses have scored -1, 7 and 2 points.
I'm tempted to not play a defense next week. Might be safer if I want to keep my sanity.
Hmmmm, who has lots of defences and lost 2 of his 3 RB's today..................
Starting Kyle Rudolph over Finley would have gotten me a win. Who'd of thought...
Due to injuries, my flex position in one league came down to either Steven Jackson against my boys or Pitta against the Browns last night, so I went with Pitta just before going to bed...................Im guessing Jackson might get more than ZERO fantasy points against us. :bang
This is also the team that is averaging 116 points per week...............and is 0-3.
That's why try to avoid starting guys that come from nowhere... it's one thing to have them on the roster, and if they manage to perform for half a season (or you have no choice), it's ok to start them. But guys that are having the season of their lifes through only three games? I'd rather play it safe and keep them glued to my bench for a while longer.
Keep in mind this is coming from a guy that almost has negative points from all his defenses through three weeks...
btw, so far, so good. I doubted a bit about starting Trent vs the Ravens D, but he delivered with his TD. 16 points are more than I got from my RBs combined in two of the three previous weeks...
Still flip flopping between starting Denarius Moore at DEN or Kyle Rudolph at DET in my flex. I have Rudolph as my choice at the moment. Same with Willis McGahee vs OAK and Alfred Morris at TB.
What do you guys think?
Can't help you much. I've got a similar doubt with Moore and Malcolm Floyd at my flex. Probably won't decide til the very last minute.
As I dont own any of them, Ill give it a go.
Id go with Rudolph over Moore (ignoring TMC's advice not to rely on possible flash in the pan players. )..............yes Raiders and Broncos will probably be a shoot out, and Palmer is looking a lot better than most thought he would but Moore will more than likely have Bailey on him, so I wouldnt want to rely on him breaking away from the old fella.
On the flip side, Rudolph is obviously Ponder's (another QB doing way better than everyone thought) main redzone target, and they are certainly going to be able to move the ball on Detroit, if not HAVE to go airborne more because there is a huge difference between Detroit's run D and their secondary..............but still, starting a guy who is the number 1 redzone target against a team they should be able to move the ball with ease on, is a huge plus for me.
McGahee and Morris, a little tougher..............McGee is a little banged up and I have a feeling Denver will want to air it out against that pig shit secondary but then of course, if they go out to a lead then leaning on McGahee will be the plan of action.............but then again, if they have a big lead they might save him considering the knock he has.
Morris, man, I vowed never again to trust ANY Shan back..............no matter WHAT! they sign Ryan Grant this week and would we really be surprised if he got 20 carries this week? even after Morris good and early down workhorse play.
Tough one, the match up and potential situation is better for Morris............just my mis-trust of Shan would push me towards McGahee.
Oh, I forgot about the other one...
McGahee vs Morris shouldn't even be a question. The Bucs stopped Murray last week without much trouble last week, keep DeAngelo to -1 yard, Cam to 6 yards on opening day, the Giants running game only manage to win a few first down... statistically, we're the best defense vs the run of the NFL (not on TDs allowed, but we only allow 47.3 ypg, which leads all NFL rushing defenses), and we're back home in real need of a win. Can't ask for a worse matchup for Morris. Go McGahee.
Thanks for the input. My RBs are McFadden, McGahee, Morris, and Williams (ARI), so it looks like I'll just have to match up DMC and Willis against each other. I was considering Williams, too, (especially with Beanie on the temporary IR) but Foster only had 76 yards on 26 carries against them.
But hey, I'll find out about Williams in our league since Forte is out Monday night and Brown is on a bye.
Williams has a tough matchup with Miami as well, but it might be a better option than Morris for this week. At least, he won't share much of the load with Beanie out.
Still would play McGahee and McFadden, even if they play each other.
