Chalmers did re-sign with the Heat
They wanted to keep the band together.
Except the only one that matters, that is...
What type of $ would it take to sign Evan Turner? Just curious.
Dwyane Wade re-signed for two years, $34M with a player option in year two.
So he re-signed for less than what he opted out for and is basically on a one year deal. This was an interesting fact...
I read somewhere that Lebron just became the highest paid player on a team for the first time next year? Doesn't make sense if that list has LeBron on it.
Also worth noting, we're back in business!
Lance Stephenson agreed to a three year, $27M deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The third year is a team option.
Nice deal for Charlotte.
The Lakers won the Carlos Boozer auction with the highest bid of $3.25M. The Bulls will pay $13.6M.
So now they have Boozer, Julius Randle, Jordan Hill & Ed Davis to logjam their PF.
And now the Lakers settle for a line up of...
Sacre? Or Hill
after failing to land Bron, Melo & Love. Times have changed!
In other news, per Broussard, the Suns offered four years, $48M to Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe's camp is seeking five years, $80M.
I wonder if he'd seek that if he was still on the Clippers. And $16M per? I really like Bledsoe and the Suns need to lock him in, but looking at that number, I'm afraid to look at the cap hit Klay will put a dent on next summer if the Warriors retain him.
The Mavs have Greg Smith back and healthy. Not a star by any means, but he brings a lot of defensive beef to the paint. Parsons is part of the team for sure now. The Mavs have a $2.7 million exception to play with as well. Evan Turner maybe? Jameer Nelson?
Dallas is looking really good... and Dirk took a 3 year $25 million contract. He could have made so much more elsewhere.
So Evan Turner went to Boston and hey, you guessed it right, Chum ... Jameer went to Dallas. Old news, though.
Some small news that you guys probably don't care for, but the Kings traded Quincy Acy & Travis Outlaw to the Knicks for Jeremy Tyler, Wayne Ellington & the rights to their 2016 2nd rounder.
The Kevin Love to the Cavs deal is agreed to, according to Yahoo. And he will opt in past the summer of 2015.
First LeBron, now Carmelo...
MIN gets: Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, Thaddeus Young
CLE gets: Kevin Love
PHI gets: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Alexy Shved, 2015 1st Round pick (via MIA)
Ekpe Udoh to the Clippers for one year, $1M.
He would've been cool at PF along with Ezeli at C for a lockdown defensive 2nd unit or at least insurance for Ezeli.
Despite his Foyle hands, he's a +/- ambassador on the defensive end. The Dubs weren't kidding when they said they wanted a stretch big. I'd imagine that and the fact that his durability has been questioned, him backing up Bogut, Ezeli, & Lee doesn't sit too well.
After all the posturing, the Suns and Eric Bledsoe have finally agreed to a five year, $70M extension.
Now it's just a matter of whether Klay will get his $15+M before the October deadline or as a RFA.
I'm hoping Klay will settle in the 12-14 million per year window after a strong pitch from Myers, Lacob and Co about keeping he and Steph together long term AND be able to retain a strong supporting cast. The word Championship will have to be uttered at least 100 times to entice him. He and his agent could just say, "you were about to trade me!"
btw, remember when just two short years ago, most of us were calling him Klaus....
Hate to say it, but Klay should ask for the max. And we should pay him... We can't agree that fast, but we just can't afford to let him go.
