Alright, fellas. You know what time of the year it is. You know how the rules work. We have 4 games, so rank them 4-3-2-1 based on your confidence level. Should we mix it up this year and add the spread? Or just keep it as is? I'm fine with either way.

    Rules:

Thanks Xbay! I am fine either way but I think adding the spread will add some intrigue. So often we all have the same picks so it just comes down to confidence points, but with adding the spreads, I think we will have more variety in selections.

We should do the spread during the regular season next year, too.

    WILD CARD WEEKEND

    SAT, JAN. 4

    Kansas City (+2.5) @ Indianapolis (-2.5)
    New Orleans (+2.5) @ Philadelphia (-2.5)

    SUN, JAN. 5

    San Diego (+7) @ Cincinnati (-7)
    San Francisco (-3) @ Green Bay (+3)

Now, should we rank the match ups based on confidence and just bold our spread picks? So for example...

    Chicago (+3) @ St. Louis (-3)

or should we rank the spreads separately?

Man, wish our betting system was not so different over here as not having grown up "knowing" it in the spread system, I would not be so daunted when looking at the lines and stuff. :?

I thought we weren't going to use the spreads until the conference finals, to cover the missing games in the 10 points per week maximum...

    In that case:

Chargers at Bengals (4 points) (Cincy's defense is underrated, and the offense has a ton of weapons. If Geno Atkins were healthy, they'd be my darkhorse pick to win the AFC)

New Orleans at Philadelphia (3 points) (I'm gonna be rooting for the Saints, but their D has been sh*t away from home, particularly with Vaccaro out, and the weather will be an issue, too... hope to be proven wrong, tho)

San Francisco at Green Bay (2 points) (I'm quite confident we'll see last year's playoffs Kap again)

KC at Indiana (1 point) (In Jamaal Charles we trust)

hmm, I thought we agreed to use spreads???? I am confused.

Bigs, it is pretty simple if you think about it. whichever team you take their score gets adjusted by the number in the brackets. So if you take San Diego, whatever they end up with, you will add 7 to their score. If you take Cinci, then you would subtract whatever their final score was.

So if the final score in that game was Cincinnati 24, San Diego 20... then the winning pick would be San Diego as if you took them your adjusted final score would be Cinci 24, San Diego 27

    Don't be, Bada!

You proposed it above, XBay said it was alright and everybody else just ignored your post. As we didn't say anything else, I thought we'd go with last year's system...

My fault, tho. We can use spreads if you want. I'm not gonna change my picks either way. And Bigs, it's really easy to understand. Bada just explained perfectly how it works. Don't worry about it!

Cheers man...............I dont think its a case of it not making any sense to me at all, its just not having thought about sports "betting" in that way for 98.6% of my life, it just feels awkward and like I am going to fuck it up.

Also, just the whole "betting" against someone you think will win, just because you dont think they will beat the spread............but they will still win the game like you thought............but you will lose the bet if they win but dont beat the spread.

Just feels alien and weird. :D

I was speaking in the general sense of women... not specifically of Ms. Nachos.

Somewhere along the road of life, women get the idea that the man they have acquired functions as a morning hand warmer. It might be in their DNA.
