Why not huh? Im sure most of us will watch some events.

Lets get things started off with 2 Gold Medals for Great Britain already! =

Ok, not going to lie...............this is BY FAR the best Olympic opening ceremony ever! (no England or London pride here)..............its great, like a live movie of British history, all orchestrated and directed by Danny Boyle.

Another triumph (ok, there is a bit of English pride here)..............Evil Shit Romney first visit to England today is getting worse and worse for him, I think by tomorrow he might be getting stoned (with stones) all the back to his place and told to get the f*ck out of our country.

Check the twatter news feed of his visit (Including the mayor of London cussing his ass out in Hype park infront of Jenny!!!  )=

I am pretty excited for the Olympics this year. Unfortunate for us Americans that with the time difference and the world of instant updates, we will know everything before we see it but still looking forward to it.

Ohh god, its 96 all over again, tearing up!..............

After the Olympic flag was walked to the podium by some of the greatest campaigners for social justice and equality alive today, they arrived an incredibly thin and frail looking man in dark glasses, then said this =

"The discipline of a great athlete demands respect, confidence, conviction, dedication, generosity and spirit of strength............these virtues are represented for us here tonight by.............Mr Muhammad Ali".

Big surprise no medal for Phelps yesterday.............he looked really lethargic and even with his comments afterwards, he seemed a little dis-interested.

Maybe its a little too much of the old :rasta

Relaxed about scraping through, lethargic and generally not seeming to give a crap about his livelihood.....................yeah, I'd say maybe a little too much. ;)

Watching GB vs Russia basketball right now................my old friend Sully starts and is defending AK47! :xross:

*EDIT* - Moments after posting that, he gets his shot swatted by Kirilenko and then committed his 2nd foul in 3 minutes...............hes out.

Wow, no patriotic homersim here...............but the cheating Russians and their oligarch backers who obviously pay everyone off, are slapping the shit out of GB and no calls, then we are getting numerous tap fouls on the other end.

Even Deng is getting hacked and no calls, whereas AK gets touched and hes off to the line.

My friend came back and straight away got his 3rd foul! :bang

Haven't seen the game, but FIBA refs are ridiculous. If people think officiating in the NBA is bad... you don't know what that means.

Well, it is evening out a little now.............some no calls for both sides and soft fouls for both.

Just in that first half though, was wildly disproportionate.

Trouble for us is that Loul has to work like a sum bitch to get anything, as does pretty much anyone else..............whereas Russia is pretty much getting whatever they want.

Down 14 right now, AK has 27 on like 12-15 shooting with a bunch of layups and oops............only reason it isnt worse is the fact we have 22 offensive boards.

Ohh, and we just cant handle the full court pressure and have just committed the 20th TO.

I absolutely dread NBC's coverage of the Olympics. Every thing is on tape delay! Takes the mystery and drama out of watching these games! And then the ones that are live are on CNBC and MSNBC, yet they're not even the events I want to watch.

Have to admit I am really enjoying watching the Olympics... well after they finish the syncronized diving crap... i mean it is interesting for about 30 seconds then it is a bore fest but it has been on like every night. grr.

I even enjoyed women's gymnastics. wtf. I had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom and check if my balls where still attached. lol. But yeah, I enjoyed it. That one US girl who is their vaulting specialist is fun to watch. She gets some serious air. Being a parent that has children participating in sports, I find it amusing to watch the parents reactions.

Have always enjoyed the swimming competition and this time really no different.

Watching GB vs Spain right now!............only down by 6! :xross: :D

You know what, I would rather have brought in Pops Mensah-Bonsu than Landry.............guy plays hard on every play, doesnt back down from anyone, scores inside well and boards nicely.

I can't wait 'till track and field starts. Then the US will skyrocket past China for the medal lead. USA rules!

    Indeed they will man.

As for this game I am watching............man, just had a rough as fuck reffing sequence.

Down 7 to Spain! nice break away, 2 on one with one of the Gasol flopper puss boys (Marc)............Luol with a great dish to Freeland for a dunk, after the pass, with Gasol in the restricted area (is that even part of International rules?) Luol shifts to his right to avoid colliding with him, literally BRUSHES his left shoulder with his left shoulder, Gasol flies backwards like hes taken a shotgun to the belly..............CHARGE!!!  :bang

Luol looks are the ref and gestures that he flopped................TECHNICAL!!!............2 shots for a T..............and then Spain gets the ball from the "turnover".

So, a lead that could have been 5, goes to 12 with the taken away basket, the 2 free throws and the ensuing 3. :bang

NOOOOO!!!!!!.............we cut it to 2 points with 50 seconds left!!! and Luol turns it over which leads to a layup..............ohh man. :bang

*EDIT* - WTFTTFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!! next possession..............Luol turns it over again!!!! :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang

Now Calderon at the line.
